What lasting paint needs

Most peeling starts under the paint

In Florida sun and humidity, a paint job lasts as long as the prep under it. Scroll through the layers.

  1. 01

    Wash it first

Dirt, chalky old paint and mildew come off with a pressure wash. Paint put over them lets go early in the Florida sun.

  2. 02

    Fix what's broken

Hairline cracks in stucco, gaps at trim and loose, flaking paint are filled, sealed and scraped, so water can't get in behind the new coat.

  3. 03

    Prime the bare spots

Patched and bare areas get a primer, so the finish soaks in evenly and the colour comes out the same everywhere.

  4. 04

    Even finish coats

The colour goes on edge to edge in even coats, thick enough to stand up to sun, rain and humidity.

  5. 05

    Clean lines, clean site

Trim, doors and edges are cut in straight, the site is cleaned up, and you walk round the finished work with us.

Details you can see

Drawn to explain, photographed to prove it

Each drawing shows one detail. The photo beside it is one of our own jobs.

  • Drawing of a wall meeting a white ceiling and crown moulding, the wall colour stopping in one straight, crisp line; an angled brush rests on a paint cup.
Open kitchen and living area with sage green walls, a white tray ceiling and white trim
    Our job

    Straight where colours meet

Where a wall meets the ceiling or the trim, the line should be crisp and straight. It's what makes a room look finished from across the room.

  • Drawing of a window taped off in blue tape with plastic over the glass, a drop cloth on the floor and a paint can, ready for spraying.
Room masked off in plastic while the walls are sprayed
    Our job

    Covered before it's sprayed

Windows, floors and fixtures are taped and covered before any spraying starts, so the only thing that gets paint is the thing being painted.

  • Drawing of a screened pool enclosure: the deck by the pool cleaned and smooth, the far half still dull and stained.
Clean light pool deck inside a screened pool enclosure, with palms beyond the screen
    Our job

The pool deck, back to its colour

Algae and dirt build up fast on Florida pool decks and pavers. Washed properly, they come back to their own colour.

  • Drawing of a stucco wall corner with a window: the left half grey with mildew streaks and a hairline crack, the right half washed and freshly painted white with a blue shutter, divided by one straight line; the step below is grimy on the left and clean on the right.
Single-storey stucco home with a paver driveway and two trucks, under an evening sky
    Our job

    Clean wall, fresh coat

Outside, the wash comes before the paint. New paint holds to a clean, sound wall and lets go of a dirty one.
